The short version
- What you make with Milo is yours.
- Paid plans renew until you cancel, and you can cancel any time.
- Check what the AI writes before you publish it.
- When you sell on your site, you’re the seller and Stripe pays you.
- Be decent: nothing illegal, harmful or misleading.
1. These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and Milo (“Milo”, “we”, “us”) for using the Milo website builder, the sites you publish with it, and this website (together, “Milo”). By creating an account or using Milo, you agree to them.
If you use Milo for a business or other organisation, you agree on its behalf and confirm you’re allowed to. Our privacy policy explains how we handle information.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 16, and old enough to form a contract where you live.
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Keep your sign-in secure. You’re responsible for what happens in your account and your workspaces, including what teammates you invite do there.
- Workspace owners control their workspace: who’s in it, their roles, billing, and the sites in it.
3. Plans, credits and billing
Milo has a free plan and paid plans. What each plan includes, its price and its AI credits are shown on our pricing page and in the app.
- Credits are used when Milo’s AI builds or changes something. Each plan comes with a monthly allowance, and you can buy more. Credits have no cash value.
- Paid plans are billed in advance, monthly or yearly, through Stripe, and renew automatically until you cancel. Prices don’t include taxes, which we add where required.
- Cancelling: you can cancel at any time in Settings. Your plan stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, then your workspace moves to the free plan.
- Refunds: payments aren’t refundable except where the law says otherwise.
- Changes: if we change a plan’s price, we’ll tell you at least 30 days before it affects you.
- Free plan offers, such as launch promotions, can change or end. We’ll give you notice if they do.
4. Your content and your sites
What you make is yours. You keep ownership of your text, images, brand and the sites you build, including what Milo generates for you.
You give us permission to host, copy, display, adapt and process your content only as needed to run Milo for you: for example to build, store, publish and back up your sites. This permission ends when you delete the content, apart from reasonable backup periods.
You’re responsible for your content and must have the rights to everything you upload or ask Milo to use, including reference pictures and links.
Milo’s templates, styles, software and design remain ours. You can use templates and styles in your sites as much as you like, but not resell or redistribute them as templates of your own.
5. AI features
Milo’s AI can make mistakes. Check what it writes, especially facts like prices, opening hours, and anything legal or medical, before you publish. Results can be similar for different people, so we can’t promise that what Milo makes for you is unique.
6. Taking payments on your site
You can take payments on your sites by connecting your own Stripe account. When you do:
- Stripe’s own terms apply between you and Stripe, and Stripe pays out to you.
- You’re the seller. You’re responsible for what you sell, your prices, taxes, delivery, refunds and customer service.
- We may charge a platform fee on each payment, as set out for your plan. It’s collected through Stripe.
7. Domains
Domains you buy through Milo are registered in your name through our registration partner, and the registry’s rules apply. Domains renew yearly if auto-renew is on. You can transfer a domain out of Milo, subject to the registry’s rules. If a domain isn’t renewed, it may be lost.
8. What's not allowed
Don’t use Milo to:
- Break the law, or help someone else break it.
- Infringe anyone’s copyright, trademark, privacy or other rights.
- Impersonate a person or business, or mislead people about who you are.
- Collect passwords, card details or other sensitive data under false pretences.
- Publish hateful, harassing, violent or sexually explicit content.
- Spread malware, send spam, or attack or overload any system, including Milo.
- Scrape, copy or resell Milo itself, or get around its limits, credits or security.
We may remove content or suspend a site or account that breaks these rules. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to fix it.
9. Your visitors
If your site collects information from visitors, through a form or a payment for example, you’re responsible for telling them how you use it and for following privacy laws that apply to you. Milo handles that information for you as your service provider, as described in our privacy policy.
10. Our service
We’re always improving Milo, so features will change, and some may be added or removed. We work hard to keep Milo and your sites online, but we can’t promise it will always be available or free of errors. We’ll give notice before removing a feature that a paid plan depends on.
11. Ending these terms
You can stop using Milo and delete your account at any time from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that seriously or repeatedly breaks these terms, or if the law requires it. If we close your account for a reason other than a breach, we’ll give you reasonable notice so you can move your content, and refund any prepaid time you haven’t used.
12. Disclaimers and liability
Milo is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we don’t give any warranties beyond those in these terms.
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, revenue or data, and our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CA$100. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that the law doesn’t allow us to limit.
You agree to cover our reasonable costs if someone makes a claim against us because of your content or your breach of these terms.
13. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Ontario, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as Milo changes. If a change is important, we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Milo after that, you accept the new terms.
